Although Ted Demme’s “Blow” from 2001 might not go over in history, it is still a great film based on a true story – and if you like Johnny Depp, you are guaranteed a good time.

“Blow” tells the riveting story of George Jung, a young man from Massachusetts who moves to Southern California, and ends up becoming one of the biggest drug smugglers in American history. It’s said that Jung, in cooperation with the infamous cartel leader, Pablo Escobar, was responsible for up to 89% of the cocaine that was smuggled into the States during the 70’s and early 80’s. In 1994, Jung was arrested with almost 1800 lbs (800 kg) of cocaine, and was sentenced to 20 years in prison. He was released in 2014, and now lives in San Francisco.

Jung is portrayed by Johnny Depp, who can be considered to be in his prime. You know, from way back when he wasn’t considered box office poison. Nonetheless, you should see the movie, and you can can start out by taking a look at the trailer below!
